Job Summary:
Teaches subject matter and skills to all students, which will contribute to their development as mature, knowledgeable, and responsible learners. Candidates should be able to demonstrate mastery of subject knowledge, common core state standards, a proven ability to manage a classroom, the desire and ability to work up to the standards of a high-performing team, and an entrepreneurial spirit and approach to teaching.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the state and school district curriculum and academic standards; including knowledge of the ways in which learning takes place and the appropriate levels of cognitive, social, and emotional development for adolescents;
- Establish a respectful environment of a diverse population of students, developing a classroom learning environment in which each child has a positive, nurturing relationship with caring adults and other children;
- Facilitate learning for all students using a variety of instructional methods, to provide students with opportunities to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, encourage exploration of ideas, and develop leadership qualities;
- Reflect on teaching practices, analyzing student learning, development, and growth and apply what is learned to improve instruction;
- Demonstrate leadership, advocate for the school and it’s students and exhibit high ethical standards;
- Take responsibility for student academic growth using a variety of assessments and ongoing improvement of instructional practice;

Qualifications- Required:
- Education: Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Hold a Massachusetts Teaching License in the appropriate content area and hold an SEI endorsement
- Candidates are subject to background checks including, CORI clearance, and fingerprinting
- Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.

- Education: Hold a Master’s degree
- Experience working in an urban school district
This position is a part of the FRCSTA bargaining unit. Salary begins at $50,000 and will commensurate with experience, including professional years of service in a school setting and educational attainment. Benefits include offer of medical, dental, employer-paid life insurance, 9 sick days, 2 personal days, and 403 b with match.
